Good news I see here.
Kenya's economy grew by 6 per cent according to the Minister of Finance - Amos Kimunya. I don't know how much I can trust him but let's take his word for it - he runs the ministry and has access to better indicators of growth in the economy.
Anyway his next statement caught my eye. He expects the growth to continue even in this election year!
Is it just me or is that not stretching the facts - many things must have changed if it is true. I mean last time we had an election we know politics was the order of the day - economy became a nuisance to the politicians. Printing more money.
On the other hand he might be right - it is only after 2007 that the economy will slide down again - when the impact of an election will start to be felt. Economists break it down for us.
Long term view has never been our strength!
