One of my bank cards expires end of this month - usually automatically I get a replacement like two weeks before the actual expiry date. Not this time. I remember since I moved I had informed the bank of my plans to move and subsequently where my statements should be sent. I guess the instructions were very complicated. And I thought visiting a branch to change my contact details would help - I mean if it was over the phone maybe the person at the call centre would have missed something.
Last night I called to find out what's up. Lo and behold the bank sent the card to my old address that includes my bank statements. Albeit since the courier service could not find me there so it was returned and destroyed. I visited another branch two weeks ago just to confirm that the card had been sent and the teller assured me it was on the way - maybe I should have checked that my details had been updated. Funny thing credit card seems to have had it right (it was issued by the same bank). It is rocket science I guess.
So I'm here and paranoid - what if those guys involved in identity theft get hold of my details?
