Remember in Economics 101 - in a perfect market it is almost impossible to get a 'deal'. I mean everyone has the same information so to some extent if at all we are in a perfect markets it is an effort in futility (Or is it not?)
A friend for the past week has been actively for a 'bargain' internet connection since his contract is running out and he believes their is a bargain out there somewhere. The cheapest I could recommend was one for £10.50 line rental and almost £6 internet connection (excluding set up costs) 18 month contract. The one I had - line rental was £11 + £15.99 broadband 12 month contract. What I assumed was that he had a clean record - the company wouldn't even consider him he had a previous outstanding bill he has to deal with.
Anyway I was looking at the brother he always claims he is broke but he has 2 mobile phones pays almost £20 on each every month and he is looking for 'cheap' internet facilities! Just put the phone down - the man is always on the phone.
Personally I consider myself a low user when it comes to mobile phone - my bill is like £8 every month but if (and I have!)convert to a direct debit mode of payment I save £3 every month. Actually I consider cell phones as necessary evil - I got so many numbers on my contact list but only regularly call like 5 numbers, and my calls wouldn't last more than 10 mins most of the time. So at the end of the month I rarely use up my allowance and its like 300 minutes!
One thing that beats logic as far as I am concerned is the amount of time people spend on the phone - it's not just ladies. My buddy is looking around for a deal and yet a few adjustments would do him well in the long run. Put down the phone and walk away with your hands where I can see them!
