Vodafone has been linked with bid for Cable & Wireless - maybe because both are struggling. Vodafone is a troubled mobile company under intense scrutiny so such a move will surely raise eyebrows.
But the strategic fit makes somes sense - C&W has strong fixed-line and broadband assets.
